Jetske Postma thrives on collaboration, focussed teams and working towards a goal. As a scrum master, agile coach and transformation manager at the telecommunications giant KPN, she knows firsthand the power of a diverse team.

What does your job entail?

As a scrum master and agile coach, I coach and guide teams to work more effectively towards their goal. I also present workshops where we discuss fresh ideas, learn new skills and establish our vision. I want to help people to ignite their energy for their work.

As a transformation manager, I’m responsible for facilitating change in the organisation and for ensuring that implementation runs smoothly and without disruption in our services to our clients.

You have had many teams under your wing, what is key to successful teams?

Diversity brings additional value in high-performing teams. It would help if you had different views and visions to achieve your goals. In the Netherlands, we say that without friction, there is no progress or new ideas.

Digital skills are also essential. The digital world is growing, and every day there are more developments in the field, so these skills are key to your future.

How did you hear about RightBrains?

My colleague (and also a RightBrains ambassador), Cathelijne Kwaaitaal followed RightBrains’ Digital Leadership programme. She asked me to facilitate a brainstorm session with the RightBrains ambassadors. During this session, I got so energised by the women involved and wanted to be a part of it!

RightBrains creates awareness of the power of diversity, and it provides a platform for women to share their experiences and help each other. On top of that, they also offer mentorship and various education programmes. These services are sorely needed by women starting in the digital technology field, as well as women who want to further their career!
