Geke Rosier: Stronger, more sustainable, and future-proof

I founded RightBrains to help close the digital talent gap by growing the number of women in digital technology. I believe that more gender diversity brings more successful teams and organisations. Not only did I want to change how women see careers in digital technology…and how the industry sees women.

Even today, many women still have a negative or narrow perception of working in tech. Very few actively choose it as a career path from the start. I recognise that hesitation, because I didn’t plan a career in digital technology either; I found my way into it by chance. And that’s exactly why I believe the field needs better stories, stronger role models, and more visible pathways.

My background is in business administration and international management, with a long-standing passion for strategic marketing. I started my career in consumer product development before joining Microsoft in the mid-90s, when digital technology was only just entering everyday life. Over the years that followed, I worked as a marketing consultant for technology startups and large organisations, helping them connect business strategy with IT.

Along the way, I noticed something striking: despite the growing importance of digital technology, women were largely absent…from events, leadership roles, and the broader narrative. That insight led me to found RightBrains in 2014, with a clear mission: to broaden the digital talent pool by inspiring, educating, and connecting women.

In 2026, RightBrains is entering a new phase. I have stepped back as owner and am handing over the leadership to Robert Laman and Johan du Pisanie, who are leading RightBrains forward together with Carine du Pisanie. This transition is a deliberate choice. I want RightBrains to continue its mission beyond my personal involvement — stronger, more sustainable, and future-proof.

I remain closely involved as founder, supporting partnerships, strategy, and growth. Because while roles may evolve, the mission does not.

RightBrains exists to show women that digital technology is not something to be intimidated by -- but a field full of opportunity, creativity, and influence. And that belief will continually drive everything I do.
